Wow! Bill Bryson sure does have a great style to his writing. His descriptions brought back memories and pains from my teen years and reminded me why I've evolved into a motel camper (rather than a back packer). A fun read, even if you never leave the comfort of your easy chair to read it. |

An extremely well thought out novel. I'm constantly finding items in the daily news that support the many ideas presented in this exciting book. |

I'm amused by the turmoil this book has triggered. The author has repeatedly reminded his critics that this is a just a novel. However, on reading this book, I found that it raises more plausible ideas than many "non-fiction" books on the same subjects. Despite the hype, I would highly recommend reading this and forming your own opinion. |

A fascinating look at the basic ways in which the human brain functions. A very readable discourse on how we learn. Based on how this rather deep subject matter was presented, I think I would greatly enjoy working or chatting with the author. |
An amazing man living an amazing life! Despite finding that most of what I thought I knew about George Washington was untrue, what he actually did accomplish was mind boggling. I also found it quite depressing to learn of the issues that he could not resolve and that they remain unresolved. In my opinion he is still an American hero, but my definition of the word has been changed by reading this book. |
